The innovative research project will extend the use of the circadian clock in agriculture, where the timing of events like flowering is important for the growth and survival of plants in both natural and indoor environments.

Currently running it in trials at Syan Farms, our largest build project to date, we believe that unlocking these hidden clocks in plants can accelerate the #growth of a whole head of lettuce from 8 weeks to just 5 weeks, which is a 37.5% in yield, a 14% reduction in #energy consumption in production, and saving an estimated 247 g CO2/ Kg produce in transport costs.

“We hope we can use this research collaboratively on a global scale to help feed the world and solve some of the food production issues that are facing many millions of people today.” Jennifer Bromley, Chief Research Officer.
