A big thank you to Professor Alex Webb for hosting our Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Jen Bromley, and the partners of the UK Space Agency‘s International Bilateral Fund phase 1 project, ‘Autonomous agriculture to support space exploration,’ at Churchill College, University of Cambridge, this summer!
The ambitious project is developing methods for cultivating crops in space, crucial for long-distance missions, while also advancing vertical farming on Earth 🌍
Partners from the UK, Australia, and the USA, spanning academia and industry, were also treated to a visit to the Archives Centre at Churchill College. They saw the historic lab books of Rosalind Franklin, whose groundbreaking X-ray diffraction work revealed DNA’s double-helix structure, and Jocelyn Bell Burnell, renowned for her discovery of radio pulsars, a significant milestone in astrophysics.
