Food prices in August rose at the fastest rate since 2008, says British Retail Consortium

Sobering statistics from the @rethinkretailuk found that in August “fresh food prices were 10.5% higher than last August, up from the 8% annual increase recorded in July”. This means that in August, food prices rose at their fastest rate since 2008.

This clearly demonstrates there has never been such a key time to bring the cost of food down, and, costs can be significantly reduced on certain products by using vertical farming methods, for reasons such as lower water usage and higher crop yields thanks to advanced, low-wattage LEDs.
